MISSING COUPLE-Police are looking for a Puna man and woman who have been missing since late June 2005. They were identified as Denton Edmund Freitas, 32, left, and Sharina Pavao, 23.

MEDIA RELEASE

Big Island police are looking for a Puna man and his acquaintance who have been missing since late June 2005.

The man was identified Denton Edmund Lee Freitas, 32, of a Hawaiian Acres subdivision address.

Freitas is described as being of Portuguese ancestry, being about 6-foot-7 in height, weighing about 270 pounds with a large build and having green eyes, short brown hair, a brown goatee and a fair complexion.

Freitas has numerous tattoos, including tattoos on the both sides of his neck, on his head and on his forearms.

Freitas may be in the company of his acquaintance, identified as Sharina Pavao, a 23-year-old Puerto-Rican female, described as being five feet tall, weighing about 120 pounds and having long black hair that is normally worn up and a tan complexion. Pavao has not been seen since the same time period of Freitas.

Anyone with information on either Freitas or PavaoÕs whereabouts is asked to call Detective Greg Esteban of the East Hawaii Criminal Investigation Section at 961-2384 or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.
