Police Chief Harry S. Kubojiri has promoted two policemen from the rank of sergeant to lieutenant.

The promotions of Mark Farias and Kenneth Quiocho took effect on September 16.

Farias is now a lieutenant in Kona Patrol. He joined the Hawaiʻi Police Department in February 1989 and worked in West Hawaiʻi as a patrol officer, Vice officer and Community Policing officer before being promoted to sergeant in November 2004. His sergeant assignments included Kona Patrol and the North Kohala District.

Quiocho, who has been with the Hawaiʻi Police Department since August 1992, is now lieutenant in charge of the Communications-Dispatch Center. His previous assignments included patrol officer, Traffic Enforcement Unit officer, Vice officer, Criminal Investigations Section detective and sergeant of South Kohala Patrol and the Personnel and Training Section.
