The Hawaii Police Department is pleased to announce that Chris Loos has joined the department as Public Relations Specialist effective April 3, 2006.

Loos, who has 28 years experience working in various aspects of media, was most recently the crime and courts reporter for the Hawaii Tribune-Herald. Before that she worked as a radio reporter in Hilo and as an associate director for an assortment of national television shows produced in Los Angeles. She is also co-author of a true crime book called Murder in Paradise: A Christmas in Hawaii Turns to Tragedy.

“I’m excited about working with our police department,” Loos said. “I look forward to my role as liaison between the department and the media.”
