Puna police are asking for the public’s help in catching a thief or thieves who essentially cleaned out a house in Hawaiian Paradise Park of all its furniture.

Sometime between April 24 and May 3, 1999, burglars made off with items that included a four-piece light blue living room set, a light blue long sofa, three single beds, two ceiling fans, light fixtures, lamp tables and carpets.

Police said the burglary occurred at a residence located at Paradise Drive and 17th Avenue.

Anyone who has information about the burglary or the stolen items or who may have purchased similar items under suspicious circumstances is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. The numbers are answered 24 hours a day. Callers will be given a coded number and their identity will remain anonymous. Callers may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 if their call leads to an arrest, indictment or the recovery of property.
