Two women were arrested Tuesday (October 19) after Big Island police served a search warrant at a Puna home.

Vice officers recovered 6.3 grams of “ice,” drug paraphernalia and $1,460 in cash for forfeiture from the home in the NÄ?nÄ?wale Estates subdivision. Louise Torres, a 45-year-old resident of the house, was charged with meth trafficking, promoting a dangerous drug and possessing drug paraphernalia. Forty-four-year-old Allison Correia of Pāhoa was also arrested at the scene but was released pending further investigation.

Torres’ bail was set at $165,000. She was held at the Hilo Police cellblock pending an initial court appearance on Wednesday (October 20).
