Puna Home Destroyed by Fire 05/04/00

MEDIA RELEASE

A single-story house in Opihikao, Puna, and its contents were destroyed by fire Thursday (May 4, 2000).

Responding to a 12:57 a.m. call, police and fire personnel arrived at the site to find the home completely engulfed in flames.

No one was injured in the fire. The occupants, identified as Ann Powers and her young son, were not home at the time the fire started. The house is owned by Lisa Davidson of a Connecticut address.

The cause of the fire is unknown, and fire officials are continuing an investigation. There was no immediate estimate of damages to the house and its contents.
