MEDIA RELEASE

Puna community policing officers are offering free home security inspections to Puna residents.

The purpose of a home security inspection is to identify features in a home or in the occupants’ daily routines that might make it an easy target for a burglar.

“During this holiday season, we are advising all residents of the Puna district of a potential increase in home break-ins,” said Puna Community Police Officer Randall Aurello.

Aurello said a home inspection is designed to alert occupants about ways they can reduce the chances of their home being burglarized.

To schedule a home security inspection, Puna residents are advised to call Officer Aurello at the Keaau Police Station. The number is 966-5835.
