A Puna man has been arrested for a burglary committed in June.

On June 10, a Mountain View home was broken into. A sports-utility vehicle belonging to a 75-year-old man was removed. Several items from within the house also were taken.

Police investigation led to the identity of a suspect in the break-in as 21-year-old Johnluke Medeiros of Mountain View. He was arrested Wednesday (November 26) and charged with first-degree burglary and fourth-degree theft. He was released from police custody Thursday (November 27) after posting $5,250 bail.

Detectives are still investigating who took the SUV. Police ask anyone with any information abut this case to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
