Puna man killed in Industrial Accident

A 43 year old Pohoiki man was killed Thursday (October 6, 2005) from injuries he sustained while working at a job site in the Hawaiian Shores Subdivision in Puna.

The victim was identified as Thomas Roth.

Responding to a 1:56 p.m. call, Puna Patrol Officers determined that the victim was reportedly electrocuted while working on a tree trimming crew on Maiii Street in the Hawaiian Shores Subdivision.

The victim was transported by Fire Rescue personnel to the Hilo Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 3:02 p.m.

The incident is classified as an Industrial Accident and an autopsy has been ordered to determine exact cause of death.
