MEDIA RELEASE

Puna police are cautioning residents that they will be enforcing drinking, curfew and traffic laws.

Community Policing Officer Robert Almeida said the Red Road area of lower Puna has been plagued by large numbers of persons gathering, drinking illegally and drag racing on the road.

Enforcement teams will be patrolling the area on a regular basis and will cite anyone who violates liquor laws, such as underage drinking and drinking illegally in public, and traffic laws, such as illegal drag racing along Red Road, he said.

Patrolling the area and looking for violators will be part of an ongoing operation conducted to keep public places safe for the public to enjoy.
