The Hawai’i Police Department is warning members of the public that purses or wallets left unattended even momentarily are easy targets for thieves.

A woman reported that a boy grabbed her handbag from a shopping cart in a shopping center parking lot in Hilo while she was unlocking her car door.

Police advise the public to safeguard their property and to be aware of their surroundings at all times.
