Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying whoever was responsible for vandalism at Laupahoehoe High School last week.

Sometime between 6 p.m. February 28 and 6:30 a.m. March 1, one or more persons threw rocks through nine classroom windows, causing $7,000 in damage.

The vandalism is being investigated as a criminal property damage case.

Police ask anyone with information about the case to call Officer Michael DeCoito at 962-2120 or the Police Department’s non-emergency number at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
