Media Release (update)

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a third person wanted for questioning in connection with a robbery on December 23 at Prince Kuhio Plaza in Hilo.

At about 10:18 p.m. on that date, South Hilo Patrol officers responded to a reported robbery at a kiosk in the shopping center. Later that night, police arrested 18-year-old Ocean Hegent of Hawaiian Paradise Park and a 14-year-old boy.

Both suspects were charged on December 25 with first-degree robbery. Hegent was also charged with second-degree theft.

Hegent’s bail was set at $5,000. The juvenile was turned over to the jurisdiction of Family Court.

Police would like to speak to 19-year-old Daniel Jordan Mills, whose last known address was in Pāhoa. He is described as African-American, 5-foot-8, 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Police ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona.
