The Hawaii Police Department is cautioning motorists to exercise extra caution around sign wavers during the political campaign season.

Police are also reminding candidates and their supporters to confine themselves to safe positions and to avoid sign waving in distracting locations, such as areas with merging traffic. Sign wavers are further reminded to observe all laws and to refrain from parking in no-parking areas.

Police ask the public to call the Police Department’s non-emergency number at 935-3311 to report any violations.
