Big Island Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying individuals responsible for stealing four vehicles from a business in the Shipman Industrial Park in Puna sometime between Thursday afternoon and Friday morning (August 24-25, 2006).

Police received a 6 a.m. report that the vehicles were taken sometime after the last employee left at 6:20 p.m. Thursday.

Investigation revealed that someone stole keys and then removed the following vehicles from the premises: a gray 1991 Toyota multi-purpose vehicle, license plate HNY 064; a gold 1986 Nissan pickup truck, license plate 745 HDF; a white 1996 Dodge Van, license plate 752 TNS and a green 1995 Ford pickup truck, license plate 582 HCT.

The case is being investigated as a theft and burglary.

Police ask anyone with information about the location of the vehicles or the identity of the individuals who stole them to call the Keaau police station at 966-5835 or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in East Hawaii or 329-8181 in West Hawaii. Calls to Crime Stoppers are kept confidential.
