Media Release

On July 7 at approximately 12:30 p.m., Big Island police responded to a report of a bomb threat at Keahole International Airport. Upon arrival, police determined that a woman had made repeated threats about a bomb being on board a plane.

The bomb threat caused the unloading of passengers and luggage for a flight, causing passengers and luggage to be screened again.

Vicky Kyung Mi Kim, 46, of California was arrested at the airport for terroristic threatening and charged with first-degree terroristic threatening. Her bail was set at $1,000.

Police ask anyone with additional information about the case to call Detective David Araki of  the Area II Criminal Investigations Section at 326-4646, extension 283, or the Police Department’s non-emergency number at 935-3311.
