MEDIA RELEASE

An autopsy on the body of a man pulled from West Hawaii waters Tuesday (September 12, 2006) revealed that he died of a heart attack.

The victim has been identified at Alvin Lung, 63, of North Kohala.

Lung was last seen launching his kayak from the Puako Boat Ramp. Witnesses who observed his body floating in a bay between the boat ramp and Wailea Bay at about 4:09 p.m. Tuesday pulled him out of the water and called 911. When police and fire rescue units arrived, Lung had no vital signs.

Police do not suspect foul play in the case, which remains classified as a coroner’s inquest.
