Police are warning Hilo residents to be aware of suspicious activity in which a male suspect is going door to door offering to sell a citrus cleanser.

An Ainako resident reported Wednesday afternoon (June 23, 1999) that a heavy-set local male in his late teens or early twenties was going door to door in a suspicious manner.

The suspect was described as being dark complexioned, having a ponytail and wearing cut-off jeans and a green shirt.

Anyone with information about a similar suspicious sales pitch is asked to call Hilo police at 935-3311.

Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All information given to Crime Stoppers is strictly confidential.
