Three arrested in Waikoloa for drug offenses 05-23-03

South Kohala Patrol officers arrested three males Thursday (May 22, 2003) for a variety of drug offenses.

Acting on a search warrant in the Waikoloa area, the officers arrested Joel Laber, 57, of Waikoloa; Matthew Laber, 20, of Waikoloa; and Evan Loney, 19, of Waimea.

They were arrested on two counts of promoting a detrimental drug, one a felony offense; one count of promoting a harmful drug, a felony offense; and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police also recovered 81.3 grams of dried, processed marijuana, 14.1 grams of psilocybin mushrooms and various drug paraphernalia. Officers also confiscated $1,012 in cash for forfeiture.

The suspects were later released pending further investigation.
