Two juveniles arrested in anthrax scare 05-14-03

MEDIA RELEASE UPDATE

Hilo Criminal Investigation Section detectives arrested two male juveniles Tuesday (May 13, 2003) in connection with an anthrax scare last week at Waiakea High School.

After questioning the juveniles, both 15, detectives released them to the custody of their parents. Police said one of the suspects is a Puna resident; the other is from Hilo.

Acting on information that was developed partially through Crime Stoppers, police arrested the two for first-degree terroristic threatening and second-degree burglary.

The case will be routed to the County Prosecutor’s Office.
