Two report being robbed at gunpoint in Hilo 07-03-03

Police are asking for the public’s help in solving a robbery that occurred the night of Monday, June 23, 2003.

Two males reported that a masked gunman robbed them about 10:30 p.m. on Aheahe Street in Hilo’s Lanakila Houselots area. The victims reported that the man brandished two handguns, ordered them to lie down on the ground, robbed them of $2,200 in cash and escaped on foot.

Aside from describing the gunman as wearing a hooded jacket and having his face covered, the victims could provide no further description of the robber.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the identity of the gunman is asked to call Detective Uwao Chartrand of the Hilo Criminal Investigation Section at 961-2382 or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.
