The Hawaii Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the persons responsible for a theft in North Hilo on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning (November 11-12).

Unknown persons removed numerous items from ranch land in Umauma sometime between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Among the many items stolen were a Miller mig welder, a Rigid compressor, a Bosh grinder, a Sears grinder and a Rigid grinder.

Police ask anyone with information about the identity of the thieves or the location of the equipment to call Officer Michael DeCoito at 962-2120 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers calls are kept confidential.
