…wanted for burglary

The Hawaii Police Department is renewing its request for the public’s help in locating a man wanted in connection with a Kailua-Kona burglary in May.

Someone entered a home in the Kailua View Estates subdivision sometime between May 27 and May 29 and removed more than 1,000 pounds of green coffee beans, vintage collectable dolls, a designer handbag collection, a guitar collection, a coin collection, a stamp collection and antique silver.

Police are looking for 24-year-old Donimic Brooks of no permanent address. He is described as African-American, 6-foot-3, 165 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. He may be operating a motorcycle. Police have received recent reports that he was seen in Mountain View and Hawaiian Ocean View Estates.

Police ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
