Wanted for five felonies

MEDIA RELEASE

Kona police are asking for the public’s help in locating a Kailua-Kona man.

Police are seeking Benny William Gordon, 36, in connection with five felonies and four bench warrants. He is described as a black male, 5-foot-11, about 195 pounds with short black hair, brown eyes and a medium build. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Police spotted Gordon on foot at about 8 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 180 in Holualoa. Several officers pursued him in Holualoa town but he escaped into the bushes. Police searched with a tracking bloodhound until 9:45 a.m. but were unable to locate Gordon.

Police ask anyone with information about Gordon’s whereabouts to call the Kona police station at 326-4646 extension 253 or the Police Department’s non-emergency number at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 329-8181 in Kona or 961-8300 in Hilo. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
