Media Release

Hawaii Police Department Detectives are requesting the public’s help in locating a man wanted for questioning for terroristic threatening, harassment and identity theft.

The suspect identifies himself as Bernard Joe McPherson, 48. His last known address was in Glenwood.

He is described as Caucasian, 6-foot-1, about 175 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a scar on his left arm.

He is wanted for questioning in terroristic threatening and harassment cases in 2005. Police also have reason to believe that he has assumed the McPherson identity.

Due to the terroristic threatening case, police consider him dangerous. 

Police ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts call Lieutenant Mitchell Kanehailua at 961-2252 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
