Big Island police are searching for a 35-year-old man wanted on a bench warrant for contempt of court.

Van Tu, also known as “Jimmy,” is described as 5-foot-7, 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. His last known address was in Hilo.

Detectives also want to question him in connection with a theft investigation. Police ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts call Detective Norbert Serrao at 961-2383 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
