Media Release (update No. 2)

Big Island police have arrested a man in connection with the shooting of a woman who was found alive in a remote forest area in Ka’u on Friday (July 27).

Rodney Bohol Sr., also known as Stacey Kealoha Kawaehai, turned himself in at the Hilo police station Sunday (July 29) at 2:10 p.m. He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is being held at the Hilo police cellblock without charges pending further investigation.

Police ask anyone with information about the case to call Detective Regino Saludares at 326-4646, extension 227, or the Police Department’s non-emergency number at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 329-8181 in Kona or 961-8300 in Hilo.  All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
