Media Release (update No. 4)

Big Island police have charged a 35-year-old Hilo man for the shooting of a woman who was found alive in a remote forest area in Ka’u on Friday, July 27.

Rodney Bohol Sr., also known as Stacey Kealoha Kawaehai, was charged at 1:55 p.m. today (July 31) with attempted second-degree murder, kidnapping, unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, promoting a detrimental drug, use of a firearm in the commission of separate felony, place to keep, and three counts of ownership prohibited.

His bail has been set at $1 million.

Police also arrested Jody Lassen, 34, of Hilo and Danolin Souza, 36, of Orchidland with attempted murder in connection with the same case. Both women were arrested today. They are being held without charges at the Hilo police cellblock pending further investigation.
