Big Island police have identified the victim of an apparent shooting as Kallen James Agliam, 19, of a Pepeekeo address in the South Hilo District.

Agliam’s body was found Thursday evening (January 31, 2001) in the Pepeekeo area.

South Hilo police responded to a 5:17 p.m. report from a passerby that the body of a man was lying on the shoulder of the roadway of the old Hilo Coast Processing Plant road. Upon arrival, officers found the body of a local male who had died of a suspected gunshot wound.

Hilo Criminal Investigation detectives are continuing a murder investigation.
