Hawaiʻi Island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person wanted in connection with a theft investigation.

At about 5 p.m. on February 1, a male suspect left a retail establishment on East Makaʻala Street in Hilo without paying for items valued in excess of $150. The suspect’s image was captured on surveillance video.

He is described as Caucasian, about 6-feet tall with brown hair and a slim build. He was wearing a black t-shirt, and blue surf shorts.

Police ask anyone with information about the identity of the person in the photo to call Officer William Brown at 961-2213 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
