11-03-2022 Eight Arrested in East Hawai‘i Warrant Sweep

An interagency warrant sweep conducted in the Hilo and Puna districts on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, resulted in the arrest of eight individuals wanted for a total of 13 outstanding warrants.

Conducted by officers from the Hawai‘i Police Department’s Community Policing Section and Special Enforcement Unit, Department of Public Safety Sheriff Division, and the Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement, the warrant sweep arrested individuals wanted for offenses ranging from criminal contempt of court, to probation violations, and revocation of probation.

The five men and three women arrested are:

  • Frank Salas, age 36
  • Samuel Flores, age 57
  • Spenser Feary, age 35
  • Rupert Gomes, age 60 
  • George Jacoby, age 42
  • Joey Kaonohi, (female) age 40
  • Ashlee Pruett, age 26
  • Shantelle Cuba, age 39

Police ask that anyone with any information relative to the whereabouts of other wanted fugitives to call the police department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at (808) 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
