Hawai‘i Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 33-year-old Keahi Sale of Hilo, who escaped from the Hale Nani Correctional Center.

Sale escaped on Friday, December 3, 2021 between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. He was last seen in the Pu’ueo Street area of Hilo that same evening at 11:30 p.m.  He was wearing a white sweatshirt, and tan shorts.  

He is described as local with tan skin, being 5 feet 7 inches tall, 155 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Sale was convicted and in custody at the Hale Nani Correctional Center for multiple violent felonies. He should be considered dangerous and the public should not approach him.   

Police ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to immediately call 911.
