8-25-23 Wanted Big Island Individuals Arrested During Warrant Sweep

Media Release

During the past week, the Hawai’i Police Department, in conjunction with the United States Marshals Service Hawai’i Task Force, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement – Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Department of Public Safety Sheriff Division, the Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement (DOCARE), and investigators from the Hawai’i County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, held a joint operation primarily in East Hawai’i that led to the arrest of numerous wanted individuals.

The following individuals have been arrested and charged for various offenses:

38-year-old Kiel Kawika Brende, of Keaau, was charged with:

  • Violation of Parole Terms and Conditions
  • Criminal Contempt of Court

He was held without bail pending his initial court appearance.

21-year-old Derick Clayson Kaohuikaulunahele Camacho, of Captain Cook, was charged with:

  • Grand Jury Indictment Warrant for the following offenses:
    • First-degree Robbery
    • Second-degree Burglary
    • Second-degree theft
    • Attempted Unauthorized Control of a Propelled Vehicle (UCPV)
    • Two counts of Kidnapping

His bail was set at $250,000.00

43-year-old Waylon Thomas, of Hilo, was charged with:

  • Summons or Arrest of Defendant on Probation; Commitment without Bail
  • Failure to Appear

His bail was set at $5,150.00

35-year-old Matthew Logan Ryan, of Mountain View, was charged with:

  • Two counts of Revocation, Modification of Probation Conditions (Probation Revocation)

His bail was set at $100,000.00

32-year-old Pomaikai M.K. Martin, of Hilo, was charged with:

  • Two counts of Violations of Conditions of Release on Bail, Recognizance, or Supervised Release (Violate RBL)

His bail was set at $10,000.00

40-year-old Lavaun Francisco Broad, of Hilo, was charged with:

  • Conditions of Release on Bail, Recognizance, or Supervised Release

His bail was set at $2000.00

33-year-old Garrett Hughes, ofKurtistown, was charged with:

  • Two counts Violations of Conditions of Release on Bail, Recognizance, or Supervised Release (Violate RBL).

His bail was set at $2000.00

31-year-old Danisha Kapua’okaleianuinui Yagong, of Hilo, was charged with:

  • Criminal Contempt of Court

Her bail was set at $1000.00

39-year-old Jarrett Kupiialii McAtee Jr., of Pahoa, was charged with:

  • Criminal Contempt of Court

His bail was set at $1000.00

20-year-old Cherish Anela Torres, of Pahoa, was charged with:

Her bail was set at $6,000.00

23-year-old Kawai Keiori Kahee, of Pahoa, was charged with:

  • Violation of Terms and Conditions During Deferment (DAG Violation)

Her bail was set at $2000.00

42-year old Marlene Hamilton, of Pahala, was charged with:

  • Violations of Conditions of Release on Bail, Recognizance, or Supervised Release (Violate RBL)

Her bail was set at $10,000.00

49-year-old Christian Earl Alameda, of Keaau, was charged with:

  • Two counts of Violations of Conditions of Release on Bail, Recognizance, or Supervised Release (Violate RBL)

His bail was set at $4,000.00

39-year-old Anthony Romero Gonsalves, of Mountain View, was arrested for:

  • Ownership or Possession (firearm) Prohibited

He was released pending further investigation.  

In addition to the above listed individuals arrested during this operation, the following individuals who had also been sought by police were recently arrested:

39-year-old Jake P. Branch, of Holualoa, was charged with:

  • Five counts of Summons or Arrest of Defendant on Probation; Commitment without Bail

His bail was set at $75,000.00

47-year-old Aaron Leighton Nobriga, of Mountain View, was charged with:

  • Three counts of Discharge of Sureties
  • Two counts Violations of Conditions of Release on Bail, Recognizance, or Supervised Release (Violate RBL)

His bail was set at $17,000.00

27-year-old Andrew Amon, of Ocean View, was charged with:

  • Criminal Contempt of Court
  • Warrant of Arrest for second-degree Robbery

His bail was set at $5,500.00
