MEDIA RELEASE

Hawaii County police are looking for a 16-year-old girl who is reported missing from a Kauai detention facility since September 13, 2003. She is believed to be on the Big Island.

The missing girl is Keshia Fernandez. Fernandez is described as being a Hawaiian, being 5-foot-4 in height, weighing about 135 pounds and having a medium build, a tan complexion, brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts should call Officer Peter Kualii of the East Hawaii Juvenile Aid Section at 961-2373 or the police non-emergency telephone number at 935-3311. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept strictly confidential.
