Big Island police are looking for whoever was responsible for a drive-by pellet gun shooting at the McDonald’s Restaurant in Waimea on Monday (June 5, 2006).

The suspect shot one of the large front windows of the fast-food restaurant from a dark colored sedan traveling west on Mamalahoa Highway, which fronts McDonald’s. The restaurant was open for business and customers were seated near the window that was shot.

No one was injured in the 8:35 p.m. shooting. Damages were estimated at $2,500.

Police ask anyone with information about the suspect or the vehicle to call Officer Michael Molnar of South Kohala Patrol at 887-3080 or the police non-emergency telephone number at 935-3311.
