Big Island police are asking for the public’s assistance with a robbery investigation. Personnel at Hawaii Community College reported today (October 6, 2006) that a man entered one of the offices on campus, brandished a handgun and demanded money. He received an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen fleeing on foot in the direction of Kawili Street leading to Kanoelehua Avenue.

Witnesses described the suspect as a local male in his early 20s, approximately 5-foot-8, 130-140 pounds, with a slim build, a tanned complexion and short, dark hair with a thin moustache. He was last seen wearing a white long-sleeved shirt and denim shorts.

Police ask anyone with information about this case to call Detective Richard Sherlock at 961-2379 or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.
