Hilo Business Robbed at Knifepoint 12-07-01

Big Island police are looking for a male suspect who robbed a business on Kinoole Street on Friday morning (December 7, 2001) and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Responding to a 9:53 a.m. call, officers learned that the suspect had wielded a knife and demanded money before making his escape.

The suspect was described as a local male in his mid 20s, being about 5-feet-5 to 5-feet-8 in height and having a slim to medium build. He was last seen wearing a light-colored handkerchief covering his face below the bridge of his nose, a white T-shirt and black shorts.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call Detective Greg Esteban of the Hilo Criminal Investigation Section at 961-2384 or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.
