Police have arrested and charged a 41-year-old Hilo man after he allegedly threatened two persons with a handgun.

Byron Miyashiro, 41, was charged at 1:30 p.m. Thursday (July 13, 2000) with two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening and one count of having an illegal place to keep a firearm. He is being held at the Hilo police cellblock in lieu of $4,000 bail.

An investigation determined that at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Miyashiro allegedly went to a house on Alawaena Road, threatened two persons inside by pointing a handgun at them. Miyashiro was arrested later that evening.

Hilo Criminal Investigation Section detectives said the incident occurred over a civil dispute.
