Hilo Criminal Investigation Section detectives have arrested a Hilo man for attempted murder and second-degree assault in the stabbing of two other males during a fight late Monday (May 31, 1999).

The suspect, identified as Ripow Ceasar, 21, is being held pending further investigation by CIS detectives.

Responding to an 11:35 p.m. report of a fight at a Maile Street address, Hilo patrol officers arrived at the scene to find that two males, one 25 and the other 19, had been stabbed.

Both were taken to the Hilo Medical Center, where the 25-year-old remains in guarded condition with multiple stab wounds. The 19-year-old was treated and released for a stab wound to the knee and contusions to his head and face.

Officers arrested a 17-year-old male at the scene for second-degree assault after he allegedly struck one of the victims with a rock.

At 6:10 a.m. Tuesday, Hilo CIS detectives arrested Ceasar for stabbing the two victims.
