Police have arrested a 34-year-old man for attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed another man Monday (October 4, 1999).

Responding to an 8:07 a.m. call, Hilo patrol officers arrived at 50 Pohaku Street to find that the victim, 29, of Mountain View, had been stabbed three times with a 5-inch hunting knife.

The victim was taken to the Hilo Medical Center, where he is listed in serious condition and was last reported undergoing surgery for his wounds. No other information was immediately available.

Officers arrested the suspect, a Keaau man, and are holding him pending further investigation by Hilo Criminal Investigation Section detectives.
