MEDIA RELEASE

Because of Christmas season activities at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hilo, a temporary one-way traffic pattern will be in effect on Kapiolani Street on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

During certain hours, traffic will be allowed only in the Puna, or southerly, direction on Kapiolani Street between Waianuenue Avenue and Haili Street.

Specifically, the one-way pattern will be in effect from 5 p.m. Sunday, Christmas Eve (December 24), to 2 a.m. Monday, Christmas Day (December 25). Again on Monday, traffic will be one-way in the Puna direction from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m.

During those times, parking will be allowed on both sides of Kapiolani Street.
