MEDIA RELEASE

Kona police are looking for a 48-year-old man who injured two women in an attack Wednesday morning (April 28, 1999).

The suspect was identified as Michael Moore, of Kona.

Moore fled the scene of the attack, in the Kahaluu housing complex, before police officers arrived.

Responding to a 5:30 a.m. call, officers found that two women, one 23 and the other 20, were struck with a hammer while in their apartment.

The victims were taken to the Kona Community Hospital, where the younger woman was reported in serious condition. The other woman suffered less serious injuries and was expected to be released Wednesday.

Anyone with information about Moore’s whereabouts is asked to call Kona Patrol at 326-4646.
