Kona Crime Stoppers office burglarized 07-28-05

A thief or thieves broke into the office of the Kona Crime Stoppers located in Kahaluu, Kona.

Police investigators said the burglars got inside by cutting a large hole into the wall of the office. The break-in occurred sometime between July 14 and July 27, 2005, while the group’s president was on vacation. Apparently nothing was taken in the break-in.

Anyone with information about the break-in or the identity of the burglars is asked to call Officer Ed Buyten of the Kona Patrol at 326-4646 or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.

Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 329-8181 in Kona or 961-8300 in Hilo. All Crime Stoppers information is kept strictly confidential.
