MEDIA RELEASE

Police are advising motorists to exercise extra caution over the upcoming Labor Day weekend.

Lieutenant Ernest E. Correia, head of the Traffic Service Section, said police expect heavier than usual traffic on Big Island roadways from Friday afternoon (September 3, 1999) through “Labor Day” on Monday.

In addition, Correia said, motorcyclists from throughout the state will hold their annual Labor Day motorcycle run circling the island.

“We would like to remind all motorists to exercise caution in their driving and to plan their trips ahead of time,” he said.

“If everyone drives with caution, we can all have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend.”
