MEDIA RELEASE

Police have charged a 21-year-old Hilo man with attempted sexual assault and unlawful entry into a motor vehicle after he allegedly tried to sexually assault a juvenile female in Puna.

The suspect, charged Friday (May 31, 2002), was identified as Anthony Duane Ramos, who is being held in the Hilo police cellblock in lieu of $85,000 bail.

Ramos was arrested after he was found on top of the juvenile during a “Rave” party held Thursday in Kalapana, Puna.

An investigation determined that the female juvenile, who was attending, the party fell asleep in a van.

A friend at the party missed the victim, and when she went to check up on her, she found a man on top of her.
