Hawaiʻi Island police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 70-year-old Hilo man.

John Richard Strange was last contacted by a caretaker on December 3 and has not been seen since.

Strange is described as Caucasian, about 5-foot-8, about 160 pounds with a tan complexion, brown eyes, wavy grey hair and a full beard. He has several tattoos on both inner forearms. He uses a wheelchair for mobility and has a medical condition that requires medication.

Strange’s family is concerned for his safety and well-being.

Police ask anyone with information about this case or on Strange’s whereabouts to contact Lieutenant Gregory Esteban at 961-2252 or gesteban@hawaiicounty.gov.
