Big Island police are searching for a 68-year-old Hilo man who was reported missing.

Paulo Vakautafefine left his home on Mokuhonua Lane in the Wainaku area sometime between 4:30 and 6:30 a.m. Friday (April 26).

He was last seen wearing a red, white and blue striped sweater, gray cotton shorts and no shoes. He doesn’t have a vehicle or cell phone. He has some medical conditions that could cause him to become disoriented.

He may be in the Wainaku or downtown Hilo areas.

Police ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
