Police have arrested and charged a mother and daughter in a robbery and burglary case.

Donna Marie Kelly, 40, and Desiree Kelly 19, both of Hilo, were arrested Friday (April 4, 2003) and charged with second-degree robbery and first-degree burglary. The two are being on $5,000 bail each.

The two suspects allegedly assaulted a 39-year-old Hilo woman after she opened her front door on hearing a knock. The victim allegedly was knocked down and dragged out of her home.

During the altercation, one of the suspects allegedly entered her home and stole her purse, which contained $600 in cash and her personal identification.
