MEDIA RELEASE

A single story three-bedroom house was destroyed by fire on Saturday (May 29, 1999) in Halaula, North Kohala.

Responding to a 5:07 p.m. call, North Kohala Police and Fire Department personnel arrived at the scene to find the wooden structure fully engulfed in flames.

Damages to the structure and its contents were estimated at approximately $130,000.

Eight occupants of the house were at home when the blaze started, but no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and an investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the fire.
