Big Island police arrested four persons in Paauilo Tuesday (August 31, 1999) for a variety of drug offenses.

Acting on a search warrant and assisted by North Hilo and Hamakua patrol officers, Hilo Vice Section officers arrested two men, a woman and a female juvenile on three counts of promoting dangerous drug, promoting a detrimental drug and having drug paraphernalia.

The officers recovered an ounce of crack cocaine and an ounce and a half of powder cocaine having a street value of $10,000. They also seized $1,000 in U.S. currency subject to forfeiture.

All four present at the Paauilo residence were arrested at 4:20 p.m. and later released pending further investigation.
